The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers (HACFM) employees a full-time Senior Services Coordinator for elderly seniors at our three senior developments. The Senior Services Coordinator is available to assist residents and connect them to services. The HACFM Senior Services Coordinator delivers broad assistance to seniors through a highly personalized approach. The Senior Services Coordinator assesses seniors' needs and helps them navigate the social services system. There are lists of services available to our seniors. These services are offered through referrals to senior supportive agencies in the community: Adult Daycare Enrollment, Counseling/Substance Abuse, Eviction Prevention, Home Health Services, Prescription Drug Program Assistance, Recreational Services, Utility Assistance and Lifeline-Link Up, and GED/Literacy Training Education.

HACFM has a partnership with Senior Friendship Centers a not-for-profit organization that has been providing quality supportive services in Lee County since 1979. Senior Friendship offers a full range of services designed to help older individuals live independently and with dignity in their own homes. The Neighborhood Friendship Cafes is a very popular service. They offer a hot meal daily Monday – Friday at Flossie Riley Garden Apartments and Royal Palm Towers. During the lunch period Senior Friendship representative invites senior service providers to present information on nutrition, hypertension, diabetes prevention and many other educational services for the senior population.
